This conference is the first forum to bring together trainees, faculty, and senior leaders to share and discuss activities and best practices to better prepare trainees (e.g. college, graduate, post-doctoral) to consider, pursue and ultimately succeed as future educators, researchers, and clinical faculty at our institutions. This conference is designed for health professionals (M.D., D.O., P.A.-C., R.N., N.P., D.M.D., social workers, psychologists, etc.), educators, researchers and trainees (pre-health professions, professional schools, and graduate). The conference will host plenaries, workshops, and a poster fair and competition. Important activities and deadlines to note include:
- Workshop and poster abstracts are due November 15, 2017 at http://bngap.org/national-conference/abstract-submission/ The program committee is most interested in proposals detailing: 1) innovative research describing trends of trainees’ exploration and consideration of academic careers, 2) best practices in heightening trainees’ awareness of, interest in and preparedness for academic careers, and 3) institutional efforts to build the upstream pipeline of diverse trainees considering academic careers.
